Chapter 8 - SARAH REFUSED THE MANSION

Victor offered Sarah and Emily a guesthouse on his estate.

Sarah said no.

He blinked.

“Why?”

“Because you’ll turn us into a rescue story.”

Victor looked stung.

Sarah continued:

“I’m grateful. But I don’t want Emily growing up thinking rich people save you.”

He sat across from her at the repaired kitchen table.

“What do you want?”

“My things back.”

“Anything else?”

“My credit fixed.”

“Yes.”

“The debt handled legally.”

“Yes.”

“And I want whoever did this to other families stopped.”

Victor nodded.

Sarah looked at him.

“Then don’t make this about me.”

That became the foundation.

Romano Capital funded an independent restitution program administered by an outside firm.

Not just for Sarah.

For every affected consumer tied to Romano-owned portfolios where improper seizures could be verified.

The company also froze all vendor bonuses linked purely to recovery volume.

New contracts required:

recorded consent,

clear separation between collateral and non-collateral property,

court-order verification,

third-party complaint review,

and automatic suspension after credible coercion allegations.
