Coercion.
Child endangerment.
Financial fraud.
Forgery.
Obstruction.
Threat-related conduct.
Prosecutors did not charge him with Olivia’s death.
Ethan respected that more than he expected.
Rachel testified.
So did Emma, through a protected child-witness process months later.
Ella was not required to testify.
Her recorded forensic interview was enough for the limited issues the court allowed.
Thomas’s defense remained intelligent.
Rachel had lied to him.
Hidden money.
Planned escape.
Used Olivia.
Kept children from their father.
Some of that was true.
None justified imprisoning her.
None justified using the twins as leverage.
The financial case was even harder for him.
Invoices.
Metadata.
Bank routing.
False guarantees.
His own messages.
One message to a subcontractor ended the argument about Rachel’s confinement:
Keep her calm until refinance closes. Kids stay separate.
The jury convicted him on the central counts.
Not every charge.
Enough.
Rachel obtained sole legal custody under strict protective orders.
The shell companies collapsed under restitution and civil litigation.
Wade Infrastructure survived under a court-appointed receiver for long enough to pay legitimate workers and creditors before being sold.
That mattered to Rachel.
