The proxy signature was determined not to have been authorized by Evelyn.
Investigators traced the submission to a device used by Preston’s executive office.
Preston denied personally applying the signature.
The evidence did not prove every keystroke.
So the legal case stayed narrower than gossip wanted.
Civil claims.
Corporate restitution.
Employment consequences.
Document-related investigation.
The board terminated Preston for cause based on verified conflicts, undisclosed related-party dealings, and misuse of company resources.
Not for cheating.
Evelyn filed for divorce the next day.
Preston kept his personal investment accounts.
His earned retirement assets.
His share of legitimate marital property.
He did not keep the mansion.
He never owned it.

That belonged to the board and shareholders.
He did not keep Brooke.
She ended the relationship after learning he had lied about ownership, the condo, and his promises to marry her legally.
Evelyn did not become Brooke’s friend.
She did not need to.
Brooke apologized once.
“I wanted to hurt you.”
Evelyn answered:
“You did.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I believe you.”
