The court did not decide based on courtyard drama.

The marital agreement said vesting failed only upon final divorce, written separation agreement, Clara’s proven adultery under the specified process, or voluntary abandonment before the anniversary.
None had occurred.
Being thrown out did not equal voluntary abandonment.
Being falsely accused did not equal adultery.
The anniversary passed.
Clara’s 35 percent beneficial interest vested.
She did not become owner of everything.
She became impossible to ignore.
The land sale stalled.
An independent trust review began.
Foundation regulators examined conflict disclosures.
Some payments to Maribel’s company were supported by actual consulting work.
Others were poorly documented.
The board required repayment of unsupported amounts and removed her from financial oversight.
Amelia resigned.
Edmund lost his position as managing trustee after the other beneficiaries voted to appoint an independent fiduciary.
