Supportable third-party wedding costs paid by Reed & Row:

Reasonable disclosed event-coordination fee:
$18,000.
Potentially legitimate but poorly documented services:
$9,700.
Unsupported or misrepresented amount:
approximately $26,610.
Then the dress reimbursement:
$47,850
still unreconciled.
Combined exposure could exceed $74,000 if the gown payment were ultimately determined improper.
But the money had not all vanished.
Reed & Row account still held $31,400.
Another $19,000 had paid wedding-related costs.
The rest went toward Vanessa’s credit cards, a luxury apartment lease from before the engagement, and a $14,000 personal loan owed to her sister.
Daniel asked:
“You used wedding trust money for your old debt?”
Vanessa replied:
“I planned to replace it.”
That sentence ended something in Daniel’s face.
He knew it.
Claire knew it.
Vanessa did too.
Priya also found transactions that looked suspicious but were innocent.
A $6,400 transfer from Reed & Row to Vanessa’s sister appeared personal.
It turned out the sister had paid the initial hotel deposit on her own credit card when the trust portal was delayed.
Reimbursement was legitimate.
A $3,800 payment to a luxury-car service looked extravagant.
It covered transportation deposits for elderly relatives and the bridal party.
Approved category.
A $5,200 floral “consultation” looked inflated.
The florist produced design drawings, mockups, and three on-site meetings.
Supportable.
Grace removed those amounts from the dispute.
Daniel asked:
“Why are we helping her defense?”
Priya answered:
“We’re not. We’re removing noise.”
The cleaner the analysis became, the harder Vanessa’s remaining explanations had to work.
