Chapter 8 - THE MEDICATION LOG
Vivien’s strongest evidence was a medication log.
Twelve missed doses in six weeks.
Nathaniel looked at Margaret.
“Were you skipping medication?”
“Sometimes I took it late.”
The estate nurse reviewed the smart dispenser.
Most doses marked:
REFUSED
had actually been removed within two hours of the scheduled time.
Late.
Not refused.
Three entries said:
Patient confused about medication purpose.
The underlying event?
Margaret asked:
“Which one is the nerve pill?”
Once.
Vivien converted that into cognitive concern.
Another entry:
Patient forgot evening dose.
The dispenser showed the pill removed the next morning after Margaret fell asleep early.
Real imperfection.
Inflated meaning.
Nathaniel finally saw the method.
Vivien did not invent every event.
She selected ordinary mistakes and translated them into pathology.
That was more persuasive than pure fabrication.
And more dangerous.
