Thomas lived under a protected identity in a Boston oncology ward.

Corbin had staged his death after Thomas agreed to testify against a pharmaceutical cartel linked to Hughes Global suppliers.

Cynthia had mourned an empty grave for ten years.

When Thomas saw her, he cried.

“My son is dead,” she said.

“I know.”

“You knew he was genetically yours.”

Thomas lowered his eyes. “For four months.”

Jessica had approached him with Leo’s compatibility results. She said the boy could save him through marrow donation.

Thomas refused.

Jessica threatened to expose his protected identity and destroy the federal case.

Bryce agreed to move Leo to Vermont because Jessica promised him control of the trust.

The sedatives were supposed to create a documented medical emergency.

But Thomas showed Cynthia a message that changed everything.

JESSICA: CORBIN WILL STOP THE PROCEDURE IF HE KNOWS THE REAL RECIPIENT.

BRYCE: THOMAS IS THE RECIPIENT.

JESSICA: NOT ANYMORE.

The scheduled recipient was Jessica Vale.

She had leukemia.

Genetic records showed her mother was Margaret Hughes, Corbin’s younger sister, believed dead since adolescence.

Jessica was Cynthia’s cousin.

She had entered Hughes Global to reach the family medical archive.

Thomas revealed Jessica was not running.

She was admitted under another name in the same hospital.

Her transplant was scheduled at dawn.

A five-year-old boy named Evan Price had already been brought in as donor.

His mother believed he was undergoing routine anemia testing.

Cynthia stopped the procedure.

Jessica was arrested from her hospital bed.

“You killed me,” Jessica said.

“No,” Cynthia replied. “I stopped you from using another child.”

Jessica insisted she never wanted Leo dead.

“You designed the doses,” Cynthia said. “You entered his room. You forged my signature.”

“I was dying.”

“So was Leo.”

The prosecution expanded to include Bryce, Jessica, Dr. Julian Mercer from the fertility clinic, and private pathologist Adrian Wells.

Then the autopsy records revealed a second viable embryo from the same batch.
