Chapter 11 - LILY LEARNS THAT TEARS DON'T END CONSEQUENCES

Lily had mastered crying partly because adults changed direction when she cried.

Now Daniel did not.

He stayed gentle.

But boundaries remained.

Phone access supervised.

No unsupervised online purchases.

No entering Emily’s room.

No borrowing without permission.

Therapy weekly.

Restitution from allowance.

Lily cried.

Daniel sat with her.

Then said:

“The consequence still stands.”

That was new.

She screamed once:

“You hate me!”

Old Daniel would have rushed to prove otherwise.

New Daniel said:

“I love you. The consequence still stands.”

Lily stared.

Love without rescue.

Harder.

Then she stopped crying.

Not because she became perfect.

Because the tactic stopped changing reality.
