Chapter 8 - THE BOARD VOTE

Ashcroft Medical Systems postponed the Meridian acquisition.

Vivian fought.

She called emergency meetings.

Invoked Michael’s name.

Accused Rachel of destroying his work.

Then Serena presented the conflict report.

Vivian’s investment partnership.

The Meridian debt.

Projected recovery if acquisition closed.

Failure to disclose.

Board members stared.

Vivian said:

“It was Michael’s investment too.”

Serena answered:

“Then it still required disclosure.”

Silence.

That was the problem with rules.

They did not disappear because the conflict had sentimental history.

The acquisition died.

Meridian later entered restructuring.

Vivian lost most of her private investment.

She blamed Rachel.
