Chapter 11 - ELENA RETURNS TO NORTHLINE

Martin Shaw called Elena two weeks later.
“Northline wants you for a workshop.”
She laughed.
“No.”
“Three days.”
“No.”
“Local.”
She paused.
“What workshop?”
“Movement safety for live performers.”
That mattered.
Not fame.
Work she actually liked.
Elena agreed.
The first day felt strange.
Old rehearsal room.
Different dancers.
Same smell of rosin and coffee.
She taught:
weight transfer,
controlled falls,
partner timing,
how to make action look explosive without losing safety.
Someone asked:
“Is it true you kicked a Moretti bodyguard through a glass table?”
Elena closed her eyes.
“Yes.”
The room erupted.
Then she added:
“And that is not the lesson.”
She explained why improvising impact near hard furniture was dangerous.
The dancers laughed less.
Good.
Myth turned back into technique.
Then Northline offered her a part-time training-director role.
Local schedule.
Three days a week.
Elena accepted.
Not because the party rediscovered her.
May you like
Because Sofia was older.
And because she realized she missed the work.
