Chapter 7 - THE FAMILY MEETING
Victor called a family meeting two weeks before the public fight.
He said:
“Julian is taking a larger operating role.”
Dante looked at Julian.
“Doing what?”
“Brand and guest experience.”
“He already does that.”
“More.”
Julian smiled.
“Maybe you should focus on food.”
Dante understood.
Victor wanted to move him back into the kitchen and give Julian authority over the business.
Dante said:
“The bank has to approve a management change.”
Victor snapped:
“They don’t own us.”
“No.”
“Then stop acting like they do.”
Dante opened the standstill agreement.
Victor pushed it away.
“I’m not reading another bank document at dinner.”
