Thomas Vale had a problem.
He had approved Harrow Point land acquisitions after receiving early contamination warnings.
Not Walter.
Not initially.
Thomas.
He buried an internal consultant memo because he feared losing the deal.
When later testing confirmed contamination, he quietly moved the old memo into a restricted archive.
Then Grant learned partial details.
Walter learned later.
The family’s concealment began after Thomas’s first concealment.
Everyone became compromised at different stages.
Brooke knew because Thomas told her.
They had one reckless night together after a company event.
Weeks later she began working closely with Grant.
Then affair.
Then pregnancy.
When she learned she was pregnant, she genuinely did not know who the father was.
Thomas begged her to keep quiet.
Why?
If the child was his, his marriage and career were threatened.
If Brooke remained close to Grant, Thomas gained protection.
Then Nathan learned enough to see opportunity.
Not a grand spy plot.
Family and business interests feeding each other.
Brooke recorded everyone because nobody trusted anyone.
Then Thomas encouraged Grant’s affair indirectly.
Travel schedules.
Late meetings.
Guesthouse access.
Keep Grant emotionally distracted.

Audrey stared at the investigation map.
The betrayal was no longer one line.
It was a web.
Then Thomas’s wife found messages and turned them over.
One from Thomas to Brooke:
IF GRANT THINKS THE BABY IS HIS, YOU'RE SAFE AND I'M SAFE.
There.
Then:
KEEP AUDREY OUT OF IT.
Brooke:
SHE ALREADY KNOWS SOMETHING.
Thomas:
THEN MAKE HER LOOK JEALOUS, NOT RIGHT.
Audrey stopped breathing.
That was the origin.
Not Grant alone.
Brooke and Thomas had actively shaped Audrey’s “crazy wife” narrative because Audrey was noticing irregularities.
Then Grant admitted something.
Audrey once asked why Thomas Vale was at the guesthouse after midnight.
Grant told her:
“You’re imagining patterns again.”
He knew Thomas had been there.
Not why.
But he lied.
Again.
Audrey looked at him.
“How many times did you make me doubt myself because the truth was inconvenient?”
Grant had no answer.
Then Patricia whispered:
“That may be the unforgivable part.”
Audrey looked at her.
Patricia was right.
The affair hurt.
The gaslighting damaged reality.
Then police arrested Thomas on obstruction and corporate-record charges after evidence showed he altered environmental files.
Brooke was not arrested immediately.
Her conduct was more complicated.
Blackmail-related investigation continued.
Then Maya called Audrey.
“The anonymous sender wants to meet.”

“Who?”
