Chapter 6 - THE WHITE BOUQUET HAD A CAMERA BEHIND IT

The strongest evidence came from the last place Ryan expected.
The flowers.
The cliffside resort hosted dozens of weddings each month.
A small fixed security camera covered the private overlook because couples frequently stepped too close to the edge while taking photographs.
A floral arch had partially blocked it that afternoon.
Investigators initially thought the footage useless.
Then a technician enhanced the unobstructed side.
It did not show Emily’s full body.
It did show Ryan’s arms.
Both hands.
Extending.
Then withdrawing.
Then his posture as he leaned over the edge.
Then him picking up the bouquet and throwing it after her.
No rescue attempt.
No panic.
No accidental stumble.
Just sequence.
For Emily, watching the footage was worse than remembering.
Memory can blur.
Video cannot.
She watched once.
Then never again.
Her father wanted the file destroyed after trial.
Emily said no.
“Evidence doesn’t become poison because I hate what it shows.”
Thomas looked at her for a long time.
Then nodded.

He had spent his entire life fixing problems with money.
This one refused to be fixed that way.
