The bathroom incident stayed separate from corporate governance.
Elena had:
a small cut near the hairline,
bruising on her upper arm,
soreness at the shoulder.
No serious injury.
No skull fracture.
No graphic harm.
The cracked mirror and bathroom security entry logs supported timing.
Vivian had witnessed much of it.
At first she minimized.
Then admitted Elliot grabbed Elena and forced her into the mirror.
Why tell the truth?
Because once the board packet surfaced, lying became another risk.
Elliot accepted an assault-related plea under the applicable framework.
Probation.
Mandatory intervention treatment.
No-contact conditions for a period.
No theatrical life sentence.
The violence mattered.
So did proportion.
Elena filed for divorce.
That process handled marriage.
The board handled governance.
The criminal court handled assault.
Different rooms.
Different questions.
The divorce prenup created another anticlimax.
Elliot did not walk away penniless.
He kept:
his separate investments,
vested compensation,
his own property,
and the marital share allocated under the agreement.
Elena kept the inherited and traceable family assets protected by the prenup and governing structures.
There was litigation over:
marital appreciation,
shared real estate,
tax liabilities,
and deferred compensation.
Boring compared with a shattered mirror.
Expensive.
Slow.
Real.
Elena did not need the divorce to prove Elliot had never mattered.
