Chapter 10 - THE LISTING PHOTOS

Allison Reed, the broker, became uncomfortable when she learned what happened.

She gave Claire nothing directly.

But she cooperated with investigators.

Her messages with Diane showed:

DIANE:

The neighbor kid cuts across every afternoon.

ALLISON:

Probably not a big deal. We can schedule exterior photos during school hours.

DIANE:

It looks like a shared yard.

ALLISON:

It reads a little connected, yes.

DIANE:

I need them to stop using that path.

ALLISON:

That’s between neighbors. Please don’t make this a listing issue.

Two days later Diane sent:

Working on it.

Allison replied with a thumbs-up.

She later said she assumed Diane meant planters or landscaping.

That was plausible.

The message did not make Allison part of the dog issue.

It did show Diane’s motive had become tied to controlling the yard before sale.

Diane had converted a cosmetic concern into a daily confrontation.
