security repair,
water treatment before decommission,
temporary gate damage.

Karen and Mark disputed.
They said other neighbors caused most damage.
Probably true.
Then security video identified:
who broke planter,
who forced gate,
who spilled drinks,
who left items.
Rachel settled individually.
Small amounts.
Some apologized.
One neighbor said:
“I thought Karen had permission.”
Rachel believed him.
He paid cleanup share anyway.
Karen and Mark paid the largest portion because:
they initiated entry,
climbed first,
opened gate,
encouraged others.
No giant punitive jackpot.
Just costs.
Then Mark lost the potential maintenance contract.
Karen resigned from HOA committee after conflict-of-interest criticism.
Not expelled from neighborhood.
