Chapter 10 - THE POLICE REPORT
Deline’s assault on Simone did not vanish into family mediation.
Hotel security had called police.
Simone gave a statement.
Videos showed:
dress cutting,
slap,
shove-like contact during the confrontation.
The scissors never touched Simone’s body.
No serious injury.
The case remained straightforward.
Deline’s attorney sought diversion.
Simone did not demand jail.
She did not ask Adrian-style corporate revenge.
She wanted:
formal accountability,
anger intervention,
no-contact period,
restitution for the damaged dress and medical check.
Deline accepted.
Then she asked Simone privately:
“Do you want the dress money?”
“Yes.”
Deline blinked.
Simone almost smiled.
“Accountability is boring.”
Deline paid.
The original dress could not be restored invisibly.
Simone kept the torn piece.
Not as revenge trophy.
As evidence in case needed.
Later she stored it away.
Then Deline said:
“I thought you’d say you don’t need my money because Julian can buy ten dresses.”
Simone looked at her.
“That is exactly the thinking we’re trying to kill.”
Deline nodded.
Then the officer handling the case said something simple during final paperwork:
“Being deceived does not authorize violence.”
Deline answered:
May you like
“I know.”
For once, nobody softened it.
