Chapter 6 - VICTOR'S COUNTERATTACK

Victor hired a serious attorney.

Then the narrative changed.

Elena was emotionally volatile after surgery.

She had delegated authority willingly.

She resented Victor for making necessary decisions during her incapacity.

The ballroom confrontation proved instability.

The black-card stunt proved recklessness.

The public humiliation proved retaliation.

Maya warned Elena.

“This is why I told you not to throw things.”

Elena looked at her.

“I know.”

“Do you?”

“Yes.”

“Good. Then be embarrassed and learn.”

Fair.

Victor also produced messages.

Elena to Victor:

Handle whatever needs handling. I can’t think about numbers right now.

Another:

If the family needs liquidity, use your judgment until I’m back.

Elena remembered writing them.

Not authorizing property pledges.

Not authorizing personal fees.

But broad enough to create gray.

Victor’s defense was not absurd.

That made the case harder.

Then Jonathan Price found something.

Every message Victor cited had been sent before Elena revoked temporary authority.

The large transfers and property-security attempts came after revocation.

Timestamped.

Documented.

Victor had continued acting after receiving formal notice.

Now intent looked different.
