Remediation expanded dramatically.
Cost millions.
Halcyon sued EnviroCore.
EnviroCore sued subcontractors.
Everybody sued everybody.
Emily testified in regulatory hearings.
Slowly.
Carefully.
She refused offers to become a media symbol.
No “miracle mother.”
No soil-healing nonsense.
When a reporter asked whether Lily’s jar “woke her,” Emily answered:
“No.”
Then paused.
“The soil helped people ask the right questions.”
That was accurate.
It triggered renewed neurological attention.
Connected Daniel to the garden.
Preserved one remaining sample.
But it did not cure brain injury.
Lily understood.
Mostly.
She still liked saying:
“I knew.”
Emily would answer:
“You guessed.”
