Maren had also managed the destruction process. She admitted substituting copies for four prototypes at Elise’s request, preserving the originals as evidence. She did not know someone later removed the Aurora necklace from storage and replaced its stone.

The insurance claim therefore contained false information.

Elise intended to correct it after exposing North Coast. Her death prevented that. Harrison and Daniel signed without knowing the substitution. Maren did know.

She believed legal necessity justified temporary deception.

The insurance carrier disagreed. So did prosecutors.
