Ethan and Victoria separated.
Not because Grace reappeared and reclaimed him.
Grace wanted nothing romantic from Ethan.

The marriage failed because Victoria’s lies became undeniable.
She had known Grace returned six years earlier.
She concealed it.
Then helped raise Noah inside a false abandonment story.
And now her discipline toward Noah had become harsh enough to frighten him.
Victoria entered therapy.
She admitted jealousy.
Not simple romantic jealousy.
Identity jealousy.
She had become:
Noah’s mother figure,
Ethan’s wife,
Whitfield hostess.
Grace’s existence threatened all three roles at once.
When Grace appeared at the gate years earlier, Victoria saw a woman who could rearrange her entire future.
So she told herself Grace was unstable.
Because believing that made concealment feel protective.
Then the therapist asked:
“Did you know Ethan had not personally rejected Grace?”
Victoria said:
“Yes.”
That mattered.
She lied deliberately.
Then Ethan asked:
“Why didn’t you trust me to choose?”
Victoria cried.
“Because I thought you might choose her.”

Then Victoria apologized to Grace.

“I told you something about your mother that I did not know was true.”
