Clara carried a prescribed fast-acting beta blocker for symptomatic episodes.
Not an antidote.
Not guaranteed rescue.
But part of her plan.
The medication was found in her purse downstairs.
Clara was upstairs.
Did she ask for it?
Lily said:
“Mommy said medicine.”
Teresa said she did not hear.
Derek said Clara complained:
“My heart.”
Then sat down.
Teresa told her:
“Breathe.”
Derek said:
“I thought it was a panic attack.”
Then Clara collapsed.
How long from collapse to 911?
Smart-home clock logs helped.
At 7:56:42, heavy impact registered through a connected floor vibration sensor installed for security.
At 7:58:09, 911 call.
Approximately eighty-seven seconds.
Not a huge delay.
Not twenty minutes.
That mattered.
There was no evidence they stood over Clara dying for a long time.
They may have responded too slowly emotionally.
But not enough to support a clear causal homicide theory.
Alex hated that reality.
