Arturo went public.
He told relatives Elena had become obsessed with money.
Then he told a business columnist she was “weaponizing family trusts after a childish poolside dispute.”
The story spread.

Said Noah laughed afterward.

Partly true.

False.
The company had existed before he married Elena’s mother.
Then Arturo made a mistake.
He claimed publicly that Elena had given him full financial authority years earlier.
Mara smiled when she saw the clip.
“Good.”
Elena looked at her.
“Why?”
“Because now he has committed to a version.”
If Arturo possessed legitimate authority, he would need to produce it.
He did.
A second document.

More powerful.
Again carrying Elena’s electronic signature.
Again fake.
