Daniel denied saying exactly that.
Then Ryan showed the messages.
Daniel:
Your mom is in full Emma mode right now.
Don’t push her.
Ryan:
She doesn’t care what happens to me.
Daniel:
I didn’t say that.
Ryan:
Feels like it.
Daniel:
Then stop giving her reasons to side against you.
Later:
Once Emma’s better, things will normalize.
Then:
Right now your mother is going to choose the sick kid every time.
Claire stared at the phrase.
Daniel defended it.
“I meant priorities. Medical needs.”
“You told a fifteen-year-old I would choose his sister over him.”
“That’s not what I meant.”
“Children live with what they hear, not what you meant.”
Daniel looked away.
He had not told Ryan to attack Emma.
He had not encouraged violence.
But he had validated the zero-sum story:
Emma gets care.
Ryan loses value.
That mattered.
Then Claire faced her own accountability.
She had indeed missed Ryan.
Not emotionally abandoned him.
But practically.

He answered:
“Proof.”
“Of what?”
“That I wasn’t the bad one.”
The therapist said:
“You were trying to prove one accusation false while behaving in ways that created new harm.”
Ryan nodded.
That was the story.

One anonymous login occurred during a time Ryan, Mason, Tyler, Daniel, Mark, and Evan all had verified locations elsewhere.
The account posted from:
Carter home Wi-Fi.
Claire was home.
So was Emma.
Emma was recovering upstairs.
No guests.
Claire stared.
“Are you saying someone used my Wi-Fi from outside?”
Possible.
Then the router logs showed the device had connected before.
Device name:
PARKER-TABLET.
Claire froze.
Ms. Parker?
Emma’s teacher?
The school tablet assigned to Emma was managed under Ms. Parker’s classroom device group.
The device name did not identify the user.
