After eighteen months, Carter Hospitality settled the founder dispute.
Margaret received:
a substantial cash payment,
partial restoration of voting rights,
one board seat through a designated representative,
formal acknowledgment of founder status,
and preservation of certain estate-transfer rights.
Not control of company.
Not destruction of Lorraine.
Precision.
The refinancing closed.
Company continued.
Lorraine retained significant influence.
Victor returned only after governance review and completion of required conduct conditions.
Not as CEO.
He lost status.
Not livelihood.
Emily’s divorce settled separately.
She received:
fair marital division,
no claim to Victor’s premarital family equity beyond what law supported,
and no forced waiver of her future inheritance from Margaret.
Good.
The old wedding acknowledgment remained partly enforceable.
