They were correct about every weakness.

Prosecutors answered with physical records: the accelerant invoice, Leonard Pike’s life-insurance policy, warehouse access logs, Meridian trusts, and payments to Hurst and Voss. The case did not require the jury to believe one perfect witness.

The judge admitted most evidence but excluded one dramatic recording where Wade appeared to say, “Let Michael burn.” Audio experts could not establish that the tape had not been spliced.

Arthur welcomed the ruling.

“If it cannot be trusted, it should not help us,” he told reporters.

The statement angered people who wanted certainty more than process. Michael agreed with him.

Wade offered a plea to financial crimes in exchange for dismissal of the homicide count. Prosecutors consulted Leonard’s family, Michael, Sarah, Thomas, and employees affected by the stolen fund. Their views differed.

Carla Pike wanted trial. Michael wanted the strongest provable accountability, not the longest possible sentence. Thomas feared his own testimony would collapse under cross-examination.

The government rejected Wade’s offer but proposed one requiring admission that he ordered the fire after learning people were inside.

Wade refused.

Meanwhile, the Founders Trust case proceeded. Eleanor’s amendment was declared authentic and enforceable. Meridian’s purchase was prohibited. Founder economic rights connected to the tainted funds converted into a veterans-and-employee trust.

Arthur lost millions under his wife’s amendment.

He did not appeal.
