Chapter 10 - THE CAR
The Aston Martin became almost comical once the legal facts were clear.
Charlotte wanted it.
Gavin had promised it.
Neither owned it.
Sable Ridge did.
Sabrina’s company demanded return.
Charlotte’s attorney advised compliance.
She dropped it at a secure commercial garage.
Keys turned over.
No police chase.
No repossession spectacle.
Then Sable Ridge’s insurer investigated the scratch.
Repair estimate:
$8,700.
Charlotte offered to pay.
Sabrina refused personally.
“The company will handle it properly.”
Sable Ridge filed the normal claim and pursued any appropriate reimbursement.
Why?
Because Sabrina did not want the car becoming revenge theater.
She later sold it.
Not because Charlotte touched it.
Because every time Sabrina saw it she remembered the bedroom.
The company replaced it with a black sedan.
Less glamorous.
More useful.
Gavin called that proof Sabrina was “destroying everything out of spite.”
Sabrina answered through counsel:
“It was a corporate asset.”

Boring facts had started protecting her better than dramatic anger.
