Jason had never read the full Mercer deal.
He said he had.
He had not.
Emily made him sit with Rachel Sloan.
Clause twelve:
exclusive image rights for eight years.
Clause fifteen:
promotional conduct obligations.
Clause eighteen:
injury-risk disclosure.
Clause twenty-one:
management option on future bouts.
Then:
parent company receives percentage of sponsorships.
Jason stared.
“How much?”
Rachel showed him.
Twenty-eight percent effective cut after management and production fees.
Jason swore.
Cole had described it as fifteen.
Not technically a lie.
Fifteen management.
Additional production fees elsewhere.
Then earn-outs favoring Robert.
Jason looked sick.
“He gets paid if I sign national?”
“Yes.”
“How much?”
“Nine hundred thousand.”
Jason stared.
Robert had told him:
family deal.
Really:
father monetizing son too.
Different method.
Same pattern.
Jason whispered:
“He did it to both of us.”
Emily answered:
“Yes.”
Then:
“You still hit me.”
Jason nodded.
“I know.”
Good.
