He had stayed neutral for years.
Victoria assumed he would support her.
Then he read Daniel’s report.
He said:
“The hotels are doing well.”
Claire answered:
“I know.”
“So why fire management?”
“I haven’t decided.”
Thomas looked surprised.
Claire continued:
“I want to know whether we’re paying too much because Victoria’s company controls both sides of the relationship.”
Thomas nodded.
That was the issue.
Not whether Victoria was competent.
