Lili had no connection to Martin Everett.
At least she thought she didn’t.
Then Detective Grace Bennett asked:
“Do you know Thomas Keller?”
The name from the audio.
Lili shook her head.
Grace explained.
Thomas Keller was an independent insurance adjuster retained by the carrier.
He had inspected the fire three days after it happened.
But the recorded voice said:
“Move the drums before Keller gets here.”
That meant the recording was not from the morning after the fire.
It was from the morning before Keller’s scheduled supplemental site visit.
Someone was changing the scene after the fire.
Why?
Grace requested Lili’s watch data under consent.
The audio metadata was intact.
Time.
GPS.
Device signature.
Not perfect evidence.
But real.
Then she asked:
“Who knew you run there?”
Lili laughed.
“Everyone who knows me.”
“Family?”
“My mother. My brother. My boyfriend.”
“Social media?”
Lili stopped.
She posted running routes sometimes.
Not live.
Usually afterward.
But her fitness profile had once been public.
Grace said:
“Make it private.”
Then:
“And do not delete anything.”
That afternoon Lili’s older brother Ryan called.
“Mom said you got attacked.”
“I’m fine.”
“Where?”
“Pine Ridge trail.”
Silence.
Too long.
Lili noticed.
“Ryan?”
“Yeah.”
“You know the place?”
“No.”
Another pause.
Then:
“Stay away from there.”
Lili looked at the wall.
“Why?”
Ryan answered:
“Because somebody already tried to rob you once.”

Reasonable.
Too reasonable.
