Chapter 6 - THE HOUSE CAMERAS

The house had fourteen cameras.

Exterior.

Garage.

Entry halls.

Kitchen.

Main staircase.

Library.

Not bedrooms.

Margaret’s “bedroom video” came from the hallway camera.

The system stored thirty days.

Claire’s attorney sent preservation notice before footage rolled off.

Then came the full breakfast clip.

Margaret:

throwing plate.

Insults.

Shoulder shove.

Mocking.

Claire:

sarcasm.

No physical aggression.

Then older footage.

Margaret blocking Claire from leaving the kitchen while continuing an argument.

Margaret removing Claire’s laptop from a desk because it “looked untidy.”

Margaret telling a housekeeper:

“If she snaps on camera, Ethan finally has leverage.”

There.

The housekeeper, Ana Ruiz, froze when attorneys asked about it.

She had heard the sentence.

Thought it was family drama.

Now it had context.

Then another clip.

Margaret speaking with Ethan.

“Stop defending her when she’s calm. Calm is how she wins.”

Ethan answered:

“I’m not trying to win.”

Margaret:

“Then you’re going to lose everything.”

Claire watched.

Ethan had not been directing the plan.

But he had been present inside it.

May you like

Again.

Silence as participation.
