Chapter 7 - RACHEL'S OWN MISTAKE
Rachel wanted Tyler expelled from the gym immediately.
Daniel did it.
Permanent ban pending appeal.
Then Rachel wanted Martin removed from the board.
Not so simple.
Evidence investigation ongoing.
Governance process.
Rachel exploded at a board meeting.
“He deleted the video!”
Martin replied:
“You cannot prove that.”
“He used your login.”
“My credentials.”
“From your office.”
“My company network.”
“Convenient.”
Martin leaned back.
“You nearly threw a thirty-pound dumbbell at my nephew while holding your baby.”
Rachel froze.
He was right about one thing.
Almost.
She had almost done something catastrophic.
The board room went quiet.
Rachel could have said:
I never released it.
Instead:
“I did.”
Martin looked surprised.
Rachel continued:
“I lost control.”
Then:
“And Daniel stopped me.”
She swallowed.
“That does not make Tyler kicking Emma okay.”
“No.”
“It also doesn’t make what I did okay.”
That changed the room.
Martin had expected denial.
Rachel gave him accountability.
Then board member Helen Price said:
“We can investigate both.”
Exactly.
Rachel’s near-violence did not erase Tyler’s assault.
Tyler’s assault did not justify her near-violence.
