Chapter 11 - MADISON LEAVES

Madison ended the relationship.
Daniel did not expect it.
“You knew what this was.”
“I knew you were leaving her.”
“I am.”
“No.”
Madison looked at him.
“You were building a case against her while telling me you were building a life with me.”
Daniel stared.
Then Madison said:
“And you put my name on an LLC holding marital money.”
“I trusted you.”
“That wasn’t trust.”
It was entanglement.
Madison’s attorney advised her to cooperate with financial disclosure and remove herself from the apartment lease.
She did.
Rachel felt no triumph.
She still disliked Madison.
But Madison had finally recognized the machine she was part of.
Then Daniel’s emotional state worsened.
He called Rachel repeatedly.
Asked to reconcile.
Not because he suddenly stopped wanting divorce.
Because the future he prepared collapsed.
Rachel refused private conversations.
Everything through parenting app or counsel.
Daniel accused her of punishing him.
Rachel answered:
“I’m reducing confusion.”

He hated that phrase.
Because it was true.
