Chapter 9 - THE MANSION
The mansion itself became part of the fight.
Thomas had placed it in a separate family holding trust.
Sophia had lifetime residence rights.
Emily had secondary occupancy rights.
Ryan had none after divorce.
He knew.
So he prepared another strategy.
If Sophia could be shown to have mismanaged the trust, a court might remove her as trustee.
Then Emily would succeed.
If Emily appeared compromised through affair and financial involvement, Ryan could argue for an independent fiduciary.
Why would that help him?
Because one proposed fiduciary was:
Charles Venn.
A trust administrator who had worked with Ryan’s companies.
Not controlled.
Friendly.
Then Rachel found emails.
RYAN:
If both sisters are conflicted, court will want neutral management.
CHARLES:
Don’t put me in writing like this.
Ryan:
Relax.
There.
Not proof Charles agreed to fraud.
But proof Ryan saw the sisters’ conflict as governance leverage.
