Arthur confronted her with both videos.
Seraphina finally stopped pretending.
“I wanted Elena gone.”
“Why?”
“Because she controls this house.”
“She cleans it.”
“She controls what you believe about Catherine.”
Arthur went still.
Seraphina’s voice cracked.
“Every room is Catherine. Every object is Catherine. Every decision gets compared to Catherine.”
There it was.
Jealousy.
But also power.
Seraphina believed marriage should make her the unquestioned woman of the household.
Elena’s memory threatened that.
