Chapter 8 - THE SHELL INSIDE REDLINE

Forensic accountants discovered Redline Brand Consulting had two bank accounts.

The public one:

Vanessa’s legitimate expenses.

The second:

opened with Adrian as authorized financial contact.

Vanessa claimed she did not know.

Bank forms had her electronic signature.

She stared.

“I never signed that.”

Another disputed digital signature.

Then transactions.

Adrian transferred $310,000 into Redline’s second account over seven months.

Only $91,000 went to Vanessa.

Where did the rest go?

A brokerage account.

Beneficiary:

A.V. Strategic Holdings.

Owner:

Adrian Vale.

Money moved:

Vale affiliate -> Redline -> Adrian-controlled account.

Why route through Vanessa’s company?

Adrian said:

reimbursement for acquisition-related expenses.

Records did not support it.

Then a memo:

SPOUSAL EXPOSURE RESERVE.

Claire stared.

Rachel looked at accountant.

“What does that mean?”

No one knew.

Then one email answered.

Adrian to CFO:

Need liquidity outside the marital operating accounts before disclosure gets ugly.

The CFO replied:

This sounds personal. I’m not touching it.

Good.

He hadn’t.

Adrian used Redline instead.

Now Vanessa’s company was part affair vehicle, part public-relations contract, part money channel.

And Vanessa either knew more than she admitted or had been used too.
