Grant:
cooperated,
pleaded to unlawful custodial interference-related charges,
probation and community service,
lost his investigator license.
Peter:
more serious because of the second-location plan,
pleaded to conspiracy-related offenses,
home detention followed by probation,
no contact with Maisie.
Elaine:
pleaded to conspiracy and child-endangerment-related charges,
received supervised probation, treatment requirements, and strict no-contact order.
Lucas:
accepted responsibility for child endangerment and custodial interference planning.
No prison fantasy.
Probation.
parenting treatment.
no unsupervised contact.
The civil divorce proceeded separately.
House sold.
Assets divided under ordinary marital rules.
Maisie’s trust remained untouched except for:
therapy,
security,
child specialist,
approved housing support.
Rachel became primary residential parent.
Lucas retained legal status as father but exercised only therapeutic contact initially.
The system did not erase him.
It restricted him.
