The committee reviewed William’s estate files.
They found:
drafts,
memos,
lawyer notes.
One note from counsel was decisive.
WILLIAM:
No sex restriction. If the first is a girl, it’s hers. Don’t let anyone rewrite me later.
Rachel read it twice.
Diane went silent.
Why had William written that?
Because Diane had raised the issue during drafting.
Counsel’s notes:
Diane prefers male-line concept. William rejects.
There.
Not ambiguity.
Disagreement.
Years earlier.
Diane had lost the argument with her husband.
After he died, she quietly recreated the outcome she preferred.
Not by forging documents.
