The annual meeting was packed.
Everyone had heard something.
Buddy stayed home.
Emily refused to turn him into a prop.
Tom presented the finances.
Calmly.
No accusations.
Sentinel contract:
$214,000 annually.
Questioned duplicate charges:
$91,300.
Confirmed billing corrections after vendor review:
$54,600.
Another $22,000 remained under dispute.
Remaining difference appeared explainable.
Then Wilson Community Advisory.
Sentinel confirmed:
$48,000 paid.
Real consulting work documented for about half.
The rest consisted of vague “community liaison” retainers.
Margaret stood.
“This is ridiculous.”
Emily did not answer.
Tom asked:
“Did you disclose that your husband’s LLC was paid by Sentinel?”
Margaret snapped:
“It wasn’t the HOA’s money.”
A homeowner called out:
“But you hired them.”
