Chapter 6 - THE KICK LOOKS DIFFERENT NOW

Emily replayed the garage video.
At 2:04 p.m., Margaret spoke to a Sentinel supervisor near Emily’s mailbox.
At 2:09, the man left.
At 2:16, Emily stepped outside with Buddy.
At 2:18, Margaret kicked him.
Why then?
Emily did not believe Margaret planned the exact moment.
But she did believe Margaret was angry.
Later, police obtained the Sentinel supervisor’s statement.
Margaret had complained:
“That woman is digging through things she doesn’t understand.”
The supervisor asked:
“Who?”
“Emily Carter.”
Then:
“If she turns this into an HOA spectacle, your contract is going to be a nightmare.”
Twelve minutes later, Margaret kicked Buddy.
That did not prove the kick was a financial conspiracy.
Important distinction.
It showed context.

She was already furious at Emily.
Buddy became the nearest vulnerable target.
