Margaret filed a police report.
Not charges immediately.
Report.
Smart.
She described:
Emily escalating domestic conflict,
pulling her hair,
throwing her down,
slapping Ashley,
pinning Ashley to ground.
She mentioned:
Daniel intervened.
She did not mention:
grabbing Emily’s hair first.
Emily filed her own report.
Then police requested home security footage.
Daniel said backyard camera had been offline.
Emily frowned.
It had worked the day before.
Rachel hired a forensic technician.
The security hub logs showed:
Camera manually disabled at 10:42 a.m.
Margaret arrived:
11:06.
Who disabled it?

DANIEL-C.
Emily felt sick.
Daniel said:
“I turned it off because Mom didn’t want to be recorded during a family conversation.”
That was his explanation.
Maybe true.
Then Rachel asked:
“What conversation?”
Daniel hesitated.
About the anniversary.
About asking Emily to sign a temporary separation acknowledgment.
Emily stared.
They had planned legal pressure.
Not necessarily violence.
