Chapter 9 - THE CABIN CAMERA

The cabin had one camera.
Old.
Battery-powered.
Used for wildlife.
Neftali installed it years earlier.
Eulalia forgot.
Investigators found the memory card behind a loose panel.
Footage from crash night.
10:14 p.m.
Neftali arrives.
Alive.
He enters cabin.
10:23.
Colin arrives.
They argue outside.
No audio.
10:31.
A third vehicle approaches.
Rachel’s SUV.
Eulalia stopped breathing when she saw.
Rachel exited.
All three entered the cabin.
10:46.
Neftali came out alone.
Carrying the steel box.
He knelt near the floor-access hatch.
Hidden from exact camera angle, but consistent.
Then he walked back inside.
11:02.
Rachel exited.
Alone.
Drove away.
11:09.
Colin exited.
He drove Neftali’s SUV.
Neftali did not appear.
Then the SUV later crashed.
That transformed the case.
Rachel had lied about not seeing Neftali that night.
Colin had driven his vehicle away.
But where was Neftali?
The footage did not show him leaving.
Police searched the cabin and surrounding forest.
Nothing.
Then Maya noticed:
the camera stopped recording at 11:12.
Battery removed.
Someone knew where it was.
Who?
May you like
Neftali.
Or someone he told.
