Chapter 10 - THE EMAIL TO DR. CROSS

The investigation found Sofia had contacted Dr. Helen Cross, the independent child-security consultant, two weeks before Ethan’s birthday.
SOFIA:
If Ethan suffers a targeted event, does Elena’s relocation clause activate automatically?
CROSS:
No. It triggers review.
SOFIA:
How fast?
CROSS:
Depends on facts.
SOFIA:
Could temporary relocation happen within 24 hours?
CROSS:
If immediate danger is credible.
Then:
SOFIA:
Would Dominic be able to block it?
CROSS:
Not if the trustee determines the clause applies.
Dominic slammed the printed email onto the table.
“You asked before the poisoning.”
Sofia did not deny it.
“Because I knew about the federal search.”
Dominic froze.
“How?”
Sofia answered:
“Mason.”
That changed everything.
Mason had been feeding Sofia Dominic’s security information.
Why?
Sofia said:
“Because I asked him to tell me if Ethan was in danger.”
Dominic stood.
“You turned my security chief into your informant.”
“He worked for me before he worked for you.”
“No. He worked around my son.”
May you like
Sofia answered:
“Exactly.”
