Chapter 6 - MASON'S APARTMENT

Police found Mason’s apartment empty.
Not abandoned forever.
Abandoned fast.
Laptop gone.
Passport gone.
Two suits missing.
But not everything.
In a desk drawer:
an invoice from Blackstone Medical Supply.
Legal company.
Mostly clinical supplies.
One line item matched the type of disposable dosing syringe found in the estate kitchen trash.
No controlled drug listed.
No poison purchased.
Still relevant.
Then a burner phone was recovered from a parking garage trash bin near the estate.

You only need the first slice.
MASON:
And if someone else eats it?
UNKNOWN:
They won’t. Tradition keeps the first piece with Ethan.
MASON:
I don’t like this.
UNKNOWN:
You were paid to follow the plan, not redesign it.
Grace read the exchange.
“Who is unknown?”
Police did not know.
Dominic said:
“Sofia.”
Rachel Sloan said:
“Maybe.”
Dominic glared.
May you like
Rachel did not move.
“You asked for truth, not comfort.”
