Chapter 13 - SOFIA'S COMPLICITY

Sofia had not ordered the poisoning.
Investigators found no message where she approved it.
But she was not clean.
She had authorized:
secret monitoring of Dominic,
off-book payments for “emergency preparation,”
pressure on Dr. Cross to define relocation thresholds,
and legal work aimed at moving Ethan quickly if an event occurred.
Gabriel took that fear and weaponized it.
Sofia had given him:
motive,
money,
access,
and urgency.
She did not know the event would be poisoned cake.
But she had repeatedly said:
“Something has to happen before Dominic understands Ethan cannot stay there.”
That sentence would follow her.
Dominic wanted her arrested.
Police said evidence did not support conspiracy to poison.
Not yet.
Sofia faced:
civil trust consequences,
guardian disqualification,
professional scrutiny,
possible financial claims.
Gabriel and Mason faced the direct criminal case.
